Technical Artist

As a technical artist at OCP, your day-to-day involves both the creative and technical teams, and touches aspects of VFX, optimization, and pipeline development. Together with our growing art team, you’re driving the creation and vision of OCP’s expressive games and technology. Based on your experience, you love enhancing the look and feel of gameplay through visual effects and tools that change the lives of creators and players for the better. You love to upgrade the capabilities of the tech and the team. It’s possible you’ve already developed a real-time feature or tool that we use and care about.

Role Overview

  • Collaborate with art and design to develop amazing VFX, lighting, and particle FX that improve gameplay and drive visual quality
  • Create high-performance, dynamic game features using your equal love of prototyping and planning
  • Driven to deliver and inspire beautifully rendered scenes, high quality end-user experience, and clean development practices
  • Work collaboratively with the range of technical and creative colleagues to define the mechanics, look, and feel of an ambitious, real-time toolset

Qualifications

  • Deep experience with real-time engine, preferably Unreal Engine
  • Modeling, animation, and VFX toolsets such as Max, Maya, Substance, Houdini
  • Demonstrated scripting or coding capability
  • Experience with at least one of:
        modular generation of assets and systems implementation and real time environments, props creation and/or terrain
        PBR techniques and materials
        solving problems related to asset optimization and performance
  • Ability to work fully remote
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate in a remote environment
