Platform Engineer (Lead)

We’re working hard to blur the lines between play and creation by making creation accessible, intuitive, and magical. Critical to achieving this vision is empowering creators to share their creations and build communities around those creations. In this role, you will be the nucleus of and lead a team that develops innovative social and identity functionality that empowers creators and players to build communities. In addition, your team will build and operate the online backend for both OCP’s first party games and user generated games. Based on your experience, you’re capable of owning systems as an individual contributor, and possibly mentoring other developers as the team grows.

Role Overview

  • Architect systems and features related to the social and identity experience of OCP’s online platform
  • Own the successful delivery of our onboarding and services experience, working in sync with the gameplay team
  • Build highly available, secure, sustainable, and maintainable technologies
  • Drive analysis and improvement of services' performance
  • Own solution design and code review, backlog building and grooming, and delivery facilitation
  • Own whole aspects of innovative feature and/or system development, considering usability, scalability, and performance

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience developing and owning and architecting online services for games
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a cross-discipline team
  • Ability to successfully communicate and collaborate in a fully remote environment
